At the centre, there are moments the children look forward to with real excitement, and the weekly pottery sessions with Gennady have quietly become one of them. Every week he walks through the door with his bag of clay and a new idea to try, and the room immediately fills with anticipation.
The younger ones shape little animals and figures while the older children tackle more detailed pieces, and Gennady moves between them with calm attention, making sure no one feels left out. Working with the clay helps them settle their minds, strengthens their hands, and gives them something precious that’s hard to put into words: the quiet pride of having made something real and entirely their own.
We are grateful to everyone who comes and gives their time so generously, wrapping the children in care and warmth. What touches us most is how sincerely interested they are in each child’s growth and in helping them unfold in their own way.
Thank you, Gennady, for being a friend of our centre.
