The Joy of Little Discoveries
At our Centre, children throw themselves into crafts with pure delight. They burst with ideas, try things out, laugh, change their minds, and dive back in with even more enthusiasm. For them, this is never just an activity. It is a whole world where they can make something that is truly their own.
These moments come to life because caring adults are right there beside them. Our educators search every day for fresh ideas, always thinking about how to spark interest, how to gently support each child, and how to help them feel, deep down, that they really can do it.
You can see it everywhere: in every ...

Illia’s Birthday
Illia isn't the type to burst into a room with fanfare.
He's quiet, a touch shy, but carries a generous, tender heart that seems to grow a little braver every day. That's the Illia we know and cherish at our Centre, and it's why today's celebration felt so deeply special.
We all came together to honor his birthday. A Cars-themed cake took center stage, surrounded by hand-drawn cards scribbled with love by the youngest children, warm hugs, and thoughtful gifts from those closest to him. And there it was — Illia's smile, shining bright, impossible to hide.
We're so grateful to our donors for ...

Painting Together with Tetyana
When the brushes and palettes appear on the table, the whole room seems to change. Our children feel it immediately and always wait for these sessions with eager hearts.
Tetyana is a volunteer and true friend of the Centre who comes regularly, bringing her paints and quiet warmth. She sits beside them, watching their paintings take shape, offering gentle words of guidance and never rushing. Every child creates something of their own: one might paint a heart full of colour, while another brings to life an image that is still unclear to everyone else, yet deeply important.
Painting teaches the children ...

Our Beloved Weekly Traditions
At the centre, there are moments the children look forward to with real excitement, and the weekly pottery sessions with Gennady have quietly become one of them. Every week he walks through the door with his bag of clay and a new idea to try, and the room immediately fills with anticipation.
The younger ones shape little animals and figures while the older children tackle more detailed pieces, and Gennady moves between them with calm attention, making sure no one feels left out. Working with the clay helps them settle their minds, strengthens their hands, and gives them something precious that's hard ...

Energy independence, thanks to friends
In February, we finally completed a project that has been critical for the Centre — installing an uninterrupted power supply that keeps the bedrooms and shelter heated even during extended blackouts.
It means more than just a technical solution. It means warmth, calm, and a sense of safety for children at the moments when outside there may be alarms, frost, and uncertainty.
This became possible thanks to the generous support of our friends. Oleksiy provided ceramic heaters for the rooms, and Sofia supplied the generator for backup power.
Because of you, children have warmth — and the ...

Each child needs their own approach
At the Children’s Support Center, we are reminded every day that each child requires an individual approach. There is no universal formula that works the same for everyone. What truly matters is attentiveness, patience, and the willingness to find the exact way of interaction that helps a child feel safe and gradually open up.
Some children open up through creativity — through paints, paper, clay, and small detailed work that requires focus. Others take time, observing quietly at first, as if testing the space for trust. It is incredibly meaningful to witness how careful observation turns into ...

You can create in any mood
Creativity is our little ray of light in the darkest times. In any weather. Under any circumstances. If there is no electricity — a flashlight will shine.
It may be snowing and cold outside — but inside the Center it is warm.
The warmth does not come from the radiators, but from the atmosphere our educators and volunteers create every single day.
Children draw, cut, sculpt, invent. And in those moments, the world becomes calmer and safer.
For children, creativity is a way to be here and now. To focus, to calm down, to hold attention. To develop imagination, fine motor skills, and inner ...

The best people are by our side
There are people who do not appear just once — "for an event" or "to check a box." They are there constantly. On difficult days, during exhausting weeks, in moments when it is simply important to know that you are not alone.
Our Center has such close friends and benefactors who support our children not with words, but with presence, actions, and care. Those who help consistently: with warmth, food, education, safety, attention, and time.
Thanks to you, children have a sense of stability. There are calm evenings, laughter, growth, and plans for tomorrow. There is confidence that there are adults ...

Care that continues
A story about when support does not disappear after the first step, but becomes part of everyday life.
That is exactly how, for a long time now, Nova klubb Sverige - Ukrainian Family Hub in Gothenburg has been with us: a space for children, youth, and entire families where community, inspiration, and inner strength are born. And at the same time - a community that systematically supports the children in our care.
Every month, this support looks truly impressive. These are personal gifts chosen with attention to each child. These are food supplies that cover basic needs. But above all, it is a sense ...

Miroslava and Sviatoslava’s birthday
Recently, our Center was filled with a special light - two wonderful children, Miroslava and Sviatoslava, celebrated their birthdays.
They are an example of how much kindness, tenderness, and talent a child can have. Miroslava is a sincere, attentive, and very sensitive girl. She always notices if someone is sad, supports them, hugs them, shares with them. Her smile can melt away any fatigue.
Sviatoslava is kind, creative, and incredibly talented. She knows how to rejoice in every little thing, inspires others with her curiosity, and is always ready to help. Her energy is like a little sun shining ...
Charity organization “The home of happy children” is an unprofitable organization and it exists only because of some voluntary donations and everyone can help us with our work.
