Our Children Are Now at Summer Camp
The children of our Centre have had the chance to go to camp for almost a month: to be among the mountains, breathe fresh air, walk, play, make friends, discover new places, and simply enjoy the summer.
For some it is their first such long trip. For some, their first camp. For some, a chance to change the setting, to rest, to gather their strength, and to be in a space full of nature, movement, new impressions, and plenty of childhood joy.
We are endlessly happy that all of our children went. Our educators set off with them too, having volunteered to be there, to support, to look after, and to share ...

Day for the Protection of Children
In a world at peace, this day is usually about smiles, celebration, balloons, ice cream, children's laughter, and ease. But in Ukraine, for many years now, it has also been a day when we feel especially keenly that children must not simply be loved. They must be protected.
Protected from danger. From loneliness. From fear. From indifference. From the loss of home, family, support, and a sense of safety.
At our Centre we are beside children every day who carry difficult stories behind them. We see how important it is for a child to have stability, care, a grown-up nearby, a warm home, the chance to ...

Our Team. Part 2
We continue our introduction to the team of the "City of Happy Children" Centre.
Today there are even more people who are beside the children every day and make this space truly alive and warm. Each of them has their own role, their own tasks, and their own approach, but one thing unites them: a sincere wish to care, to support, and to be a dependable anchor.
One helps the children make sense of their emotions, another creates comfort and order, someone is responsible for safety, and someone for opportunities and growth. This is great teamwork, in which every detail and every person matters.

Traditions That Inspire
At our Centre we have one very warm tradition that has long become part of our everyday life: cooking together with the children.
One child washes the vegetables, another kneads the dough, someone learns to cut fruit or set the table. For some it is their first time making simple dishes, for others a chance to feel needed, independent, and grown-up.
Moments like these mean far more than a shared kitchen. Through simple everyday things children learn responsibility, cooperation, trust, and care for one another. They see the result of their work, they learn to agree, to support, to wait, to share.
And ...

Our Team. Part 1
The people who give children care, comfort, and love every single day will tell you a little more about themselves today. They share the things that matter in their own lives, the things they have chosen to give to the children too: an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, tasty lunches from the kitchen, clean and freshly laundered clothes, quality medical care provided in good time. This is daily work, often unnoticed, and behind it stand great responsibility, resilience, and a sincere wish to be there for every child.
Every member of the Centre's team is not simply a specialist in their field, but a ...

Trust Begins with the Grown-Ups
Almost the entire team of our Centre completed the training course "Therapy Based on Relationships of Trust".
This was work not only about theory but about the practice of everyday contact with children: how to build trust, how to remain a steady support, how to respond in difficult emotional moments without losing sensitivity.
We thank the speakers, methodologist of the Centre for Social Services Anna Buryk and trainer Tetiana Paliienko, for their deep and very practical approach. There were many case studies, discussions, and things we can put to use straight away.
We invest our time in learning ...

The Little Prince
Recently the children of our third group visited the Youth Theatre on Lypky for a performance of "The Little Prince".
For many of them it was a brand-new experience. There is something unforgettable about sitting in the hall as the lights go down and a story begins that holds you from the very first minutes. The play turned out to be tender and profound at once: about friendship, responsibility, loneliness, and how important it is to see what truly matters.
The children lived through the story in their own ways. Some followed every word closely, some responded more to the images and the stage, and ...

The Joy of Little Discoveries
At our Centre, children throw themselves into crafts with pure delight. They burst with ideas, try things out, laugh, change their minds, and dive back in with even more enthusiasm. For them, this is never just an activity. It is a whole world where they can make something that is truly their own.
These moments come to life because caring adults are right there beside them. Our educators search every day for fresh ideas, always thinking about how to spark interest, how to gently support each child, and how to help them feel, deep down, that they really can do it.
You can see it everywhere: in every ...

Illia’s Birthday
Illia isn't the type to burst into a room with fanfare.
He's quiet, a touch shy, but carries a generous, tender heart that seems to grow a little braver every day. That's the Illia we know and cherish at our Centre, and it's why today's celebration felt so deeply special.
We all came together to honor his birthday. A Cars-themed cake took center stage, surrounded by hand-drawn cards scribbled with love by the youngest children, warm hugs, and thoughtful gifts from those closest to him. And there it was — Illia's smile, shining bright, impossible to hide.
We're so grateful to our donors for ...

Painting Together with Tetyana
When the brushes and palettes appear on the table, the whole room seems to change. Our children feel it immediately and always wait for these sessions with eager hearts.
Tetyana is a volunteer and true friend of the Centre who comes regularly, bringing her paints and quiet warmth. She sits beside them, watching their paintings take shape, offering gentle words of guidance and never rushing. Every child creates something of their own: one might paint a heart full of colour, while another brings to life an image that is still unclear to everyone else, yet deeply important.
Painting teaches the children ...
Charity organization “The home of happy children” is an unprofitable organization and it exists only because of some voluntary donations and everyone can help us with our work.
