We have a new friend — a kind-hearted donor, mentor, and simply a radiant person with a big heart: Sofia Shamia, Miss Ukraine 2023.
Sofia came to visit the children to get to know them, to talk, to listen, to hug, and of course — to bring lovely surprises. But the most valuable gift she brought was her openness, sincerity, and genuine desire to make the world a better place.
Sofia will now be a regular guest at our Center. She will lead art therapy sessions, runway and self-expression workshops, and masterclasses in photography.
Joining her for the first visit was a photographer whose camera fascinated the children so much that they wanted to try being photographers themselves — and with the artist’s permission, they got to see the world through the lens.
After the meeting, emotions were overflowing. Genuine smiles, sparkling eyes, and so many new ideas we can’t wait to bring to life together.
“All of these meetings, these classes, this attention — it’s incredibly important for our children. It’s not just entertainment, it’s healing. It helps restore their self-belief, gives them a sense of worth, inspiration, and warmth. We are so happy Sofia has become part of our family,” says Center Director Natalia Semenova.
We thank Sofia for her presence, for every word and every hug. And we can’t wait for our next meeting!
