Our friend Marcel
At the very beginning of the evacuation, it was very difficult for the children, not only because of the new living conditions, the difficult road, the shelling, and the air raids. The language barrier added to this inconvenience. The children had previously studied English, and our volunteers only planned to learn German.
Luckily, we had a volunteer, Marcel, who has been lending a helping hand and teaching our children to speak and understand German since the very first days.
All this in a very interesting, playful way, which the children enjoy.
We have often said that we are lucky people because we meet the best people on our way.
