The New Year at our Center began with refreshing walks in the open air. Though there’s no snow this time, it doesn’t stop the children from enjoying themselves. Our little ones had an unforgettable adventure at the “Galaxy” Amusement Park in Blockbuster Mall. The day was filled with excitement, joy, and heartfelt laughter! The doors to a real chocolate fairy tale — the Lviv Handmade Chocolate Workshop — opened for our kids from Group 3 and the older children from Group 2. Our older kids, together with two of our youngest first-graders, visited a true winter wonderland — the “Winter Country” at VDNH! Before Christmas, a session with volunteer Tetiana was dedicated to the true symbol of the holiday — the didukh. Tetiana shared with the children the history and significance of the didukh in Ukrainian culture. She explained how this traditional straw decoration symbolizes peace, prosperity, and harmony in the home, and how important it is to preserve our traditions. Joy fills the Children’s Aid Center once again as our favorite sculpting sessions resume. Our dedicated volunteer, Hennadii, who generously gives his time, heart, and soul to the children, has returned to help them develop their skills, imagination, and motor abilities. Sculpting is more than just creating shapes out of clay or modeling materials. It’s a process that helps children focus, express their creativity, and learn patience.
